Our Services

"Plank on Ply", this premium flooring system came about in the early 90's, a 12mm plywood sheet is glued and fixed to your concrete slab, providing the ideal sub-base to take your genuine solid 10mm-12mm tongue and groove floorboards. Every floorboard fitted by us will be analyzed for tone (light or dark) and the length of every board also determines where it's best laid. We really do try and make the floor flow and become more appealing to the eye. We take great pride in our scribing ability; all floorboards are perfectly scribed leaving only a 1mm gap around the door frames, which requires no putty filling. Impressive!

"Direct Stick", this system gained popularity just after 2000 and was considered by customers as it helped reduce the cost of a "Plank on Ply" floor, by eliminating the plywood sheet, considerable cost can be made. We did many of these floors and we always followed industry guidelines; by carrying out thorough concrete preparation and in most cases a moisture barrier is applied to new concrete slabs to prevent any moisture transfer. As for moisture content of solid timber products, Australian standard guidelines recommend a moisture content between 10-14% for timber flooring. Before any installation we check the moisture content so that we’re satisfied it's ideal.

"Engineered Flooring", a product that offers affordability and convenience. This engineered system comprises of a 3-4mm veneer already adhered to a plywood sheet backing and comes in packs of 2sqm comprising of 180mm wide boards up to 2m in length. This product offers both pre-finished and raw as an option. Raw requires sanding and polishing once the product has been fully laid and adhered to your sub-base.

"Hybrid Flooring" the timber look system that ticks a few important boxes! Very cost-effective and is super convenient as its totally pre-finished and requires no glue... just a skilled hand for fitment. In some cases, a levelling product is applied to your existing concrete floor to improve its level by removing unevenness across the slab.

I hope you find this insight into each flooring system we offer very useful when deciding what's best for your home. Your trust in HARDWOOD FLOORING WA will be very respected and very much appreciated.
